Civics Workshop: Omaha’s Climate Action Plan

Our city has begun to experience the effects of climate change, including hotter and drier summers, wetter and colder winters, and dangerous thunderstorms producing high winds, large hail, flash flooding, and tornadoes.

In November 2021, Omaha city officials announced plans for a Climate Action Plan (CAP), which would lay out a blueprint to reduce climate change effects and decrease greenhouse gas emissions.

As the city moves forward with planning, now is the perfect time to get familiar with climate action plans.
