The Omaha Neighborhood Grants Program (ONGP) is put on by the Omaha Community Foundation. One Omaha provides grant writing workshops, technical assistance, project development support and fiscal sponsorship to assist neighborhood groups in applying for the grant and successfully implementing their projects. Through this process neighborhood associations and groups can increase capacity, develop leadership skills, build strong community networks and create shared resources for their neighborhood. 

Timeline

• The application is open Jan 1-Mar 1 2026
• Groups will hear back about their application status in mid-late June
• Projects must be completed in 2026
• A final report is due Dec 31, 2026

ONGP Overview

• Awards are up to $5,000
• The grant seeks to fund projects that:
  • Promote conversation and collaboration between neighbors as a means of developing shared priorities and increasing neighborhood growth and engagement.
  • Provide enhanced safety, beautification, organization and/or social benefits to neighborhoods.
  • Strengthen relationships with the City of Omaha and/or related municipal agencies by ensuring that neighborhood associations are working in tandem with city agencies and in accordance with standard permit and approval processes.
• The selection committee wants to see projects that:
  
  • Increase the capacity of neighborhood groups
  • Develop leadership skills within neighborhood groups
  • Develop stronger connections between residents and develop resources

Eligible Groups

• Must be based in Omaha, NE
• Must be a resident-led neighborhood group
• Must be listed in the City of Omaha Neighborhood Directory
