One Omaha's Community Building Workshops provide the knowledge and skills needed for organizers to develop and execute collaborative projects in their communities.
Community Development
When: Wednesday, October 6, 2021, 6PM to 8PM
Where: Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center (6400 University Drive South)
What will be covered:
- What is community development?
- What are the principles of community development?
- What are the different approaches to community development?
- What is the role of an organizer in community development?
Bridging the Generation Gap
When: Thursday, October 7, 2021, 6PM to 8PM
Where: Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center (6400 University Drive South)
What will be covered:
- What are the differences and characteristics of each generational group?
- What are the benefits of generational gaps?
- How can you overcome generational differences?
Each workshop is being held as a hybrid event (both in-person and via Zoom) and is free to attend. Due to COVID-19, in-person attendance is limited to the first 8 individuals who register for that option. For in-person participants, masks will be required and dinner will be provided.
