One Omaha creates strong, connected communities through training, engagement, and place-based initiatives. Our work with neighborhood leaders and residents position us to help grassroots community organizing efforts. We provide strategies, tactics, and methods for people to take collective action.
We are looking for a communications manager to lead the development and execution of all communication activities in alignment with our newly launched 3-year strategic plan. Our primary audience over the years has been neighborhood associations. In recent years, One Omaha has engaged grassroots organizers, advocacy groups, and philanthropic organizations while increasing our investment in community organizing and platforms for systems literacy. Therefore, we need to rightsize our communications so that our tools and resources reach the core audiences to achieve our mission.
One Omaha has struggled to consistently communicate with our audiences over the years. We have engaged in a limited way through social media (Facebook, Instagram), email newsletters, and having a presence at neighborhood meetings. We also maintain a website with blog posts written by staff members and a podcast focused on civic engagement. We are seeking a much more consistent and powerful set of communication approaches, tools, and strategies that are bold and engaging.
